4月16日晚7点，我院首期英语沙龙活动在门诊七楼会议室拉开帷幕。本次活动邀请了陈萍副院长和科教科余颖聪科长，由口腔科林佳主持。

首先，林佳用英语致欢迎词，并带领大家宣读英语沙龙的目标 "Every－day a little.Nothing is impossible."陈院长在发言中表示，希望大家将英语沙龙活动持之以恒地坚持下去。余科长用英语作发言，讲述了院办蒋联群主任曾代表温州医学界担任加拿大代表团访温翻译的事迹，激发大家对学习英语的热情。

接着，是self-introduc－tion（自我介绍）。大家纷纷上去作自我介绍。大多数人都能清楚表达，有些讲得风趣幽默。随后，是About Smile train（微笑列车经历）。林佳讲述了自己在温州“微笑列车”活动中担当外国医疗专家翻译的经历。并讲解了英文版医学病历的组成要素和基本填写，最后，还向大家介绍了一些有

用的英语学习网站，比如

"TED"、"Wikipedia"、"Youtube"等。

Briefing the 1st meeting of English Salon

On April 16th， we hold the first meeting of English Salon.Over 50 faculties have joined the meeting that night. There were 2 participants from the administration.They were vice president Chen Ping who gave a warm greeting speech and the di－rector of research and teaching de－partment(Dept. of R &T) Yu Ying－cong who made a few remarks to in－troduce the English Salon.  All the participants had been divided  into 6 teams, clinical laboratory team, surgical team, medical team, general ENT and pediatric team, gynecologi－cal and obstetric team and unde－fined team. Every one of the partic－ipants had a chance to give a self-introduction speech. Some of us came to the stage and showed their spoken English. Maybe simple and not excellent enough, but it was good enough that they dare to open their mouth. After that the host Lin－da related some of the experience in 2008 Wen Zhou Happy Smile hu－manitarian medical helping activity. She brought the accessory for the medical record of Happy Smile. Be tailored to the purpose of learning special English for medical, all of us were toured to read a English medical record and write it. Making us of what we have learned is of paramount importance in learning English. How far we will go is up to ourselves. However, Our objective is "Everyday a Little and Nothing is impossible."

    Director said:

1.Next meeting of English Sa－lon will be held in May 14th. The host team is the clinical laboratory team. The leader of the C.B. Team should ensure the time and enquire about what to do from the research and teaching department. The team must decide the main idea before May.

2.On April 29th, we will watch movie in English Salon. Take your recreational time for learning Eng－lish. If you have an idea about what you want to, you can tell the department or Linda.

3.On our LAN, we have a board to release English learning resources and the notice of English Salon. So, please have a look at it in your spare time and pay close attention to the upgrading.

4.Now we have a QQ for Eng－lish Salon, the number is 83725016. If you are interested in, everyone can join it for chanting in English.
